Litigious Resolution

The Consumer Conflict Arbitration Centers are part of the Consumer Arbitration Network, being an alternative means of dispute resolution, provided for in the Ral Law, using mediation, conciliation and arbitration.

CACC are private non-profit associations, authorised by the Ministry of Justice and registered with the Directorate-General for Consumer Affairs as alternative dispute resolution entities in accordance with Articles 5 and 16 of Law No 144/2015 of 8 September, which transposed Directive 2013/11/EU of the European Parliament and the Council on ADR, which establishes the legal framework for out-of-court settlement mechanisms for consumer disputes.

Consumers may also use the support of a proximity service, commonly referred to as Local Consumer Information Centres (CIAC),are municipal structures, which within their competences have established a protocol with the Directorate-General for Consumer, constituting a local solution for free consumer support.

(IMPIC, I.P.), declares to adhere to the Arbitral Tribunal of the Center for Consumer Arbitration of Lisbon, authorized by Ordinance No. 155/90 of February 23 and Order 20/93 of 4 May, of the Ministry of Justice, accepting arbitration as a way of resolving consumer conflicts, arising from sales of goods or services made in the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon, having no. 33017 of Full Membership.
